Constructed by Amar Chand Badwa during his tenure (1751–1778) under four Maharanas of Mewar.
Later occupied by Nath Singh, a royal relative, and expanded in 1878 by Maharaj Shakti Singh of Bagore.

Restored in 1986 by the West Zone Cultural Centre, reviving its grandeur as a heritage museum.
